Water Sampling

Proficient Legionella / Water Hygiene monitoring is in line with local and internationally recognised standards and is also an essential risk specific management practice which provides a critical evaluation of current risk control and mitigation programs.

Legionella is identified as a “Group 2, HBA (Hazardous Biological Agent)” within the South African Regulations for Hazardous Biological Agents (pg 14). The regulation falls within the realms of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, No. 85 of 1993, (OHS Act) and ultimately demands the acceptance of responsibility for the control of exposure of individuals to Legionella. In turn the HBA Regulations highlight the need for risk risk assessment, monitoring, adequate training and information as well as record keeping.
