KCM Environmental Services is a private environmental consultancy that performs compliance monitoring to assess whether organisations operate within environmental regulations. We are a BEE level 1 company, based in Durban, KwaZulu Natal that serves organisations across Southern Africa.

Founded in 2014, KCM Environmental Services has grown considerably since interception. With more than a decade of experience in the environmental monitoring and compliance field from our team, our footprint covers industries across South Africa.

Kevin Munsamy

Director

 

Managing Director: 

Kevin Munsamy, Director of KCM Environmental Services, brings over 13 years of experience in engineering and environmental management. Holding a BSc (Eng) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cape Town, Kevin is an expert in air quality monitoring and environmental legislation. A strategic leader, he ensures the company has the right resources to meet client needs, constantly evolving to stay ahead in a dynamic industry. Passionate about sustainable solutions, Kevin is dedicated to driving excellence and innovation at KCM Environmental Services.

Fathima Ally

Technical Manager

 

Technical Manager:

Fathima Ally is the Technical Manager at KCM Environmental Services, bringing a Master’s degree in Chemistry from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She oversees technical operations, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, managing complex data analysis, and preparing detailed technical reports. Fathima leads project teams, coordinates resources, and ensures that all work meets the highest quality and safety standards. She stays up-to-date with the latest environmental regulations and technologies, driving innovation and ensuring KCM delivers efficient, sustainable solutions to clients. Known for her attention to detail and leadership, Fathima plays a pivotal role in the company’s success and continued growth.

Yovani Naidoo

Yovani Naidoo holds a BSc (Honours) in Biological Sciences from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and brings two years of experience in data analysis, technical writing, and project coordination. With a proactive problem-solving mindset and a self-driven approach, she is a well-rounded professional with a broad range of skills and experience. Yovani excels at ensuring environmental reports meet regulatory standards and deliver actionable insights. Outside of work, she is passionate about conservation and volunteers with local environmental groups. Her expertise and dedication make her a key contributor to KCM’s mission of providing responsible, transparent environmental solutions.

Vhumatshelo Phosa

Environmental Assessment Practitioner

Environmental Assessment Practitioner:

Vhumatshelo Phosa is a qualified Environmental Scientist, holding a degree in Environmental Sciences and registered as an Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) with EAPASA. With a deep passion for overcoming challenges, she believes that each obstacle is an opportunity for personal and professional growth. Her dynamic personality is complemented by strong communication skills, a competitive nature, and a positive, optimistic outlook. Vhumatshelo thrives in team environments, firmly believing that collaboration and knowledge-sharing can lead to extraordinary achievements. She is dedicated to giving her best in every project, always striving to be a “million in one” and make a meaningful impact. With a strong belief in the power of teamwork and the idea that “impossible” is simply a word to challenge, Vhumatshelo continues to drive success through her unwavering commitment and enthusiasm.

Thandanani Masuku

With extensive experience in conducting surveys, monitoring environmental conditions, and overseeing the operation of specialized equipment, Thandanani plays a key role in delivering high-quality results that support KCM’s sustainability initiatives. Known for a sharp problem-solving ability, leadership skills, and a deep passion for the environment, Thandanani thrives in challenging, dynamic field environments.

Her ability to navigate complex environmental issues, combined with a passion for marine conservation, allows her to contribute effectively to vital environmental protection efforts. Masha’s proficiency in data analytics and problem-solving ensures that her projects are both impactful and efficient, consistently advancing ecological sustainability. Thobani Leon Ngwazi

Hydrologist

Hydrologist:

Thobani Ngwazi holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Earth Sciences and a Bachelor of Science Honours in Hydrology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where he is completing his Master’s degree in Hydrology. His research focuses on groundwater monitoring and hydrological data analysis. Thobani brings strong analytical, field sampling, and GIS skills, coupled with a passion for sustainable water resource management. He is eager to apply his scientific expertise and innovative approach to environmental projects at KCM Environmental. 

Sharlyn Govender

Project Manager

Project Manager:

Sharlyn Govender is a Project Manager with an Honors degree in Environmental Science. Driven by a passion for nature conservation, Sharlyn has developed expertise in environmental testing and pollution assessment. His experience includes conducting Isokinetic stack sampling to evaluate pollutants and assess atmospheric emissions, in line with environmental regulations. Sharlyn has also gained valuable experience in marine conservation, monitoring seawater quality, and conducting a range of chemical and microbiological tests to ensure healthy aquatic ecosystems. His commitment to environmental sustainability fuels his dedication to advancing effective, science-based solutions for preserving the natural world. 

Thembeka Madlala

Report Coordinator

Report Coordinator :

Thembeka Madlala holds a Bachelor of Science Honours in Botany from Walter Sisulu University. She has experience in microbiological testing and laboratory management gained from her time with the eThekwini Municipality’s Scientific Services Department. Thembeka is skilled in data analysis, laboratory procedures, and quality control, with a strong commitment to accuracy and continuous learning. She is passionate about applying her technical background to support environmental monitoring and sustainable development initiatives at KCM Environmental. 

Lethukuthula Sithole

Field Technician

Field Technician:

Lethukuthula Sithole holds a Diploma in Chemical Engineering from Mangosuthu University of Technology. He has hands-on experience in water testing and process monitoring, including boiler and cooling water analysis, technical troubleshooting, and report compilation. His strong foundation in laboratory practices and process operations supports his ability to ensure quality and efficiency in environmental monitoring activities. Outside of work, Lethukuthula is an avid sports enthusiast who enjoys following cricket and soccer.
